About Heal The Land Farm and Market
Our Story
We’re the Sheltons — Scott and Hillary.
We met in Tennessee while serving in the military, fell in love, got married, and started a family. As our time in the military was winding down and the uncertainty of 2020, as supermarket shelves sat empty, we felt called to keep serving in a new way: by growing real, nourishing food for our neighbors.
What began in 2021 as a few backyard chickens to feed our own family soon grew into something bigger. In 2023 we moved to Bladen County, North Carolina, and started farming. Then, in January 2024, Hillary literally dreamed of a market — a welcoming store that would bring people together over fresh, local food.
In August 2024 we opened the doors to Heal The Land Farm Market — a gathering place where community happens, one meal at a time.
